5. Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater

We love pumpkin and have listed a few recipes you must try this fall!

Note: With the Pumpkin Bread recipe we would suggest adding more spice, but we like it spicy.  And really making it a day or so ahead of time makes it just that much better.  Allows the flavors to meld together better. Enjoy! :)

Friday's Five

1. Crafting Blogs
I don’t know about the rest of you in the blogosphere, but I love being crafty.  There’s just something about bring able to create something tangible with your own two hands (and maybe a few tools) that’s very fulfilling.  Especially when you can do it for next to nothing!  Of course, I’m not always in the crafting mood.  I go through phases.  But apparently I’m back on the upswing, because I spent a good deal of this week looking through new crafting blogs I’ve found.  And I’m pretty sure I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!  How adorable is this pom pom bib necklace?

And this would be perfect for my beachy bedroom:

Check out these crafty ladies for more inspiration:

2. Shoe Clips
If you’re anything like me, you’ve got some old shoes sitting in the back of your closet that you don’t wear anymore, and yet for some reason, just can’t seem to bring yourself to give away.  Maybe you should try revamping them instead.  Enter shoe clips!  They give your old tired shoes a brand new life!  Or just add a little extra pizzazz to already cute ones!  Take a look at these lovelies!

3. Etsy

I’m assuming most of y’all out there have heard of this website, but if not, get yourself over there pronto!  I could (well, and let’s be honest, totally have) spend hours on this website.  Just about anything you could possibly imagine is for sale here in some form or fashion.  I heart Etsy!

4. New Fall TV!

So excited that some of our favorite standbys (hello NCIS, DWTS, HIMYM, etc) are back on tv.  And a little more excited about new shows out this fall.  We’ve watched the premieres of New Girl (Zooey Deschanel is too adorable), Ringer, Revenge, and we love them all!  Which shows will you be tuning into this fall?

5. Ten Thousand Villages

If you've never heard of it, Ten Thousand Villages is one of the largest fair trade organizations in the world which strives to improve the livelihood of artisans in 38 disadvantaged countries.  Your sale will help pay for "food, education, healthcare and housing for artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed."  With 390 retail stores, there's bound to be one near you.  If not, check out the website.  They have jewelry, home decor, toys and games for the kiddos, etc.  The stores are fun to peruse through.  I scored the above capiz shell earrings, which were made in the Phillipines.  Go check them out.  You'll be doing a good thing and getting something beautiful in return!

Friday's Five!

1. Most Eligible Dallas

If you are young, gorgeous, single, and live in Dallas, odds are you are on this show! Most Eligible Dallas (MED) airs on Bravo Monday nights, and focuses around a group of Texas socialites that were former beauty queens and pro football players and have all at one time or another dated each other. Being from Texas, we know everything is bigger and better here and this includes the drama.  You will watch as these socialites date, attempt to find true love, and/or maybe just a one night stand. Either way, you will be left speechless at their crazy antics. To find out more about MED go here.

2. Matt Nathanson

Modern Love                                Some Mad Hope
We are both loving this soulful singer/songwriter right now!  He has such a range of songs, there's sure to be something for everyone.  Slower ballads, to fun, upbeat songs like the one below, Faster.  A song we've had stuck in heads for a few days now, and don't mind that it's still there!  Do yourself a favor and run to the music download site of choice and get his new album Modern Love.  Tip: it's only $5 on Amazon!

Tasty Tuesdays: Cool days and Chili!

With the weather changing there is nothing we love more than a steaming, hot bowl of chili! This is a Campbell family recipe passed down from my Great Grandmother! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1lb Ground Beef
3 Strips of Bacon Cooked and Broken into Bits
1 Can Wolf Brand Chili
1 Can Rotel Tomatoes
1 Can Pork-n-Beans
1 Can Ranch Style Beans
1 Tablespoons chili powder
2 Tablespoons brown sugar

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan brown ground beef.
2. Add all other ingredients in same pan and stir.
3. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Then reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 2 hours. The longer the better!
4. Serve with Frito's, crackers, and/or shredded cheese.
